Time Out

As with anything that you do day in day out, its sometimes necessary to take time out when you are on long term cycling trips.

You get to a point when you just want to do something different than sitting in the saddle every day, or you simply want to get to know a place more intimately.

Some people might battle on through these, particularly if they are up against defined timescales, but for us it is all part of the journey.

It may be that the weather is bad or finances run low or you just want to discover a particular place in depth, getting to know its people, culture, language and build friendships.

As we have already said, for us our cycling is all about the journey. We are free and flexibale enough to be able to take time out as we wish.

So far we have stayed in Tavira, Portugal and in Lubrin, Spain. We have also returned to the UK during the summer months to stay with Karen's mother.  Towards the end of 2011 her mum sadly passed away and we found it necessary to spend 6 months in the UK sorting out her affairs.

We then had a period renovating an old house for our son to rent from us.

Laterly we have been living at our apartment in the Philippines at the Trip Advisor top rated Atmosphere Resort

It was from here that we started our tour of the Visayas early in 2013.  The Visayas are the group of islands in the middle of the Philippines Archipeligo.  Our trip was split into The Western Visayas, Central Visayas and the Romblon and Masbate tour.

On our sub menus we talk about our experiences in the places that we stay for several weeks or months. and hope to provide a little more than just an insight into the places that we have visited.
